Attributes of God’s Love – 2
Kindness
1 John 4:7 - Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one
that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God.
How do we show forth the love that God has shown unto us as believers. We
looked at how Christ had compassion on the multitudes, we too are to show
compassion when His love has been shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy
Spirit. (Romans 5:5.)
Another attribute of God that we should exemplify is found in the following
verse.
Ephesians 4:32 - And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one
another, even as God for Christ’s sake hath forgiven you.
Another of the attributes of God is commanded here. To Show kindness to
one another. We live in an unkind world; if we are going to be the light that
we are commanded to be then we must obey this command to be kind to one
another.
Jesus taught us about the kindness of the Heavenly Father in Luke 6:35 - But
love ye your enemies, and do good, and lend, hoping for nothing again; and
your reward shall be great, and ye shall be the children of the Highest: for he
is kind unto the unthankful and to the evil.
Let’s allow others to see “Christ in us, the hope of glory,” (Colossians 1:27) by
being compassionate and kind to those God brings across our paths.
