Rejoicing

 

Jeremiah 9:23 - Thus saith the LORD, Let not the wise man glory in his wisdom, neither let the mighty man glory in his might, let not the rich man glory in his riches: 

Jeremiah 9:24 - But let him that glorieth glory in this, that he understandeth and knoweth me, that I am the LORD which exercises lovingkindness, judgment, and righteousness, in the earth: for in these things I delight, saith the LORD. 

We are told in the above verses to rejoice in understanding and knowing the Lord. We learn about the Lord in His Word. As we get to know Him, we can rejoice in the following.

  1. The Word of God - Jeremiah 15:16 - Thy words were found, and I did eat them; and thy word was unto me the joy and rejoicing of mine heart: for I am called by thy name, O LORD God of hosts. 
  2. Assurance - Luke 10:20 - Notwithstanding in this rejoice not, that the spirits are subject unto you; but rather rejoice, because your names are written in heaven. 
  3. Salvation - Luke 15:10 - Likewise, I say unto you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner that repenteth. 
  4. Christ’s Return – 1 Peter 4:13 - But rejoice, inasmuch as ye are partakers of Christ's sufferings; that, when his glory shall be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy. 

Learn more about the Lord so that you can rejoice and glory in the same way as our Heavenly Father does.
