Grow Up in Wisdom
James 1:5 - If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.
Wisdom as it pertains to the Word of God has been defined as, “looking at things from God’s perspective. The only way we can be able to do that is by reading, knowing, studying, and meditating on the Word of God.
The book of Proverbs teaches us in;
Proverbs 9:10 - The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding.
That word fear means, “reverence”; we will reverence God when we understand His Power, His Presence, and His Provision.
What does it mean to fear or “reverence” God?
We are told in Proverbs 8:13 - The fear of the LORD is to hate evil: pride, and arrogancy, and the evil way, and the froward mouth, do I hate.
The word froward means “perverse,” unfortunately, we have been conditioned by the world to tolerate, accept, and in many cases embrace sin.
Evil, pride, arrogancy, evil ways, and perversion are to be hated because of the destruction it can cause in lives, families, communities and in our country.
We would all do well to heed the words found in Proverbs 4:7 - Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding.
