Encouragement from The Lord
1 Samuel 30:6 - And David was greatly distressed; for the people spake of stoning him, because the soul of all the people was grieved, every man for his sons and for his daughters: but David encouraged himself in the LORD his God.
In the day we live in there is a lot of discouragement. In the workplace, you can never do enough. We are constantly pushed to do more and more. At school as we achieve one goal there are others out there to strive for. We don’t take time to enjoy one reward before we start striving for another.
Oftentimes, the results of our task driven society is we feel unworthy, we feel like we don’t measure up, we feel we can’t be the example God wants us to be because of the pressures and stress of this world system.
David in the above text, was greatly distressed, but he encouraged himself in the Lord. You and I can do the same thing. But first we have to deal with the feelings and the hurts that have been placed by folks who do not understand the power of the words they say to us.
How do we do that?
As His children I believe He wants us to feel like we are His favorite child. He wants us to know that He will provide, He will protect, and He will promote. Trust The Lord Jesus Christ today.
