The Danger of Ignorance
The Apostle Paul would write repeatedly in Scripture, “I would not have you to be ignorant.” We read in 2 Corinthians 2:10 - To whom ye forgive any thing, I forgive also: for if I forgave any thing, to whom I forgave it, for your sakes forgave I it in the person of Christ;
2 Corinthians 2:11 - Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.
The world likes to say, “Ignorance is bliss!” What a stupid thing to say! Does anyone want to go to a doctor who is ignorant of medicine or use a lawyer who doesn’t understand the law. No one wants to use an accountant who can’t add or subtract.
We are commanded in 2 Timothy 2:15 - Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
Our enemy Satan knows Scripture and “walks about seeking who can devour.” (I Peter 5:8) The enemy wants to destroy a Christian’s testimony. After he destroys a testimony, he will go after families and finances. He is never satisfied until he destroys all we hold dear.
As believers we need the spiritual nutriment of God’s Word to make us strong to be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. (Ephesians 6:11)
