Facts and Truth
Psalms 25:5 - Lead me in thy truth and teach me: for thou art the God of my salvation; on thee do I wait all the day.
What can you do when you need to make a decision but don’t know what to do? The choices you have involve their own set of facts, but which direction is truly right and best?
First, understand there’s a big difference between facts and truth. The facts of your situation are details such as the who, what, when, where, and how, and they can differ depending on perspective. That’s what usually makes decisions difficult.
The truth, however – which fully encompasses the facts – ultimately finds its source and full expression in God. He knows the truth of why and how you were created. And in order to make the best decision, you must understand how your choices fit into His truth – into the context of His eternal purposes for your life.
Thankfully, as you seek God, He promises to guide you into truth (John 16:13). So, when you face puzzling circumstances or difficult problems, always ask Him to lead you and to show you what He’s accomplishing through the situation. Because certainly, the right decision will become clear as you do.
