The Successful Way of Life

Proverbs 6:23 - For the commandment is a lamp; and the law is light; and reproofs of instruction are the way of life:

In most bookstores the largest sections are the ones on how to be successful. Sadly, many of the success books available leave out the greatest book on success, which is the Word of God. God's Word is the answer for anyone who wants success. No matter what field a person may pursue, the principles of success will be found within the pages of the Word of God. Any person who desires to be successful would be wise to read God's Word so that they can learn the principles that It teaches.

In Proverbs 6:23 we find three necessary ingredients to learning how to be successful in life. The principles that are taught are important if you are going to teach someone how to be successful.  These three ingredients need to be included in any teaching program if you are going to be successful in teaching someone the principles of success.

The first necessary ingredient is commandments.

This is simply someone properly instructing you in specific areas. We must have proper instructions or directions to know the right way to accomplish our objectives. Whether it’s a coach, teacher, supervisor, or manager there must be directions, instructions, and goals explained.

The second ingredient is the law.

The law is required to teach us what not to do. Proverbs 6:23 tells us, “The law is light.” Without the laws to tell us what not to do, we would be operating in darkness, it is very important that laws are enforced or they become of no effect.

The third ingredient is instructional correction.

To be in the right way of life, we need instructions in the right way, we need cautions on what not to do and we must be corrected when we do things the wrong way.

Correction is part of success! Yet, God says that when we correct, we need to instruct. Don't just punish someone when they do wrong but show them why they were wrong and how to do it right the next time. That is what instructional correction is. Correction without instruction will fail to help the corrected person succeed. Proper correction will come with instruction.

Hebrews 12:7 - If ye endure chastening, God dealeth with you as with sons; for what son is he whom the father chasteneth not?
