Words of Wisdom – Hope
Proverbs 13:12, “Hope deferred maketh the heart sick: but when the desire cometh, it is a tree of life.”
As Christians we live in hope. We are told to be in Romans 12:12, “Rejoicing in hope;”
We don’t have to hope in salvation, because of the assurance of God’s Word. That same Word of God gives us Hope, Bible Hope.
As Christians our lives should be characterized by anticipation, enthusiasm, and optimism. This is not blind optimism but Bible optimism because our hope is in the Lord.
Romans 5:5, “And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.”
The believer whose faith is firmly fixed in the glorious hope of the second coming of the Lord Jesus Christ can stand almost anything in this life. God calls this in Titus 2:13, “Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ;”
What a tremendous Word of Wisdom, that word, Hope. As the song says, “My hope is built on nothing less than Jesus’ Blood and Righteousness.”
