Unique Purposes

Exodus 31:1-5 – “And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,

See, I have called by name Bezaleel the son of Uri, the son of Hur, of the tribe of Judah:

And I have filled him with the spirit of God, in wisdom, and in understanding, and in knowledge, and in all manner of workmanship,

To devise cunning works, to work in gold, and in silver, and in brass,

And in cutting of stones, to set them, and in carving of timber, to work in all manner of workmanship.”

Have you experienced the joy, fulfillment, and inspiration of doing what the Lord created you to do? Often, when you discover the purposes for which God formed you, you know it because it fits you in a manner nothing else can. There is freedom and pleasure in your work because of how the Holy Spirit flows through you to accomplish it.

This was certainly the case with Bezaleel, the man God enabled to build the Old Testament Tabernacle. The Lord gave him the artistic ability to follow and carry out all of His instructions, including understanding how to work with the special wood, metals, fabrics, and precious stones of the sanctuary.

God has created you with special gifting as well, and I pray you’ve had the joy of walking in what you were created to do. But if you’ve not yet discovered what it is, pay attention to what you do that feels like you’re worshipping God, because that will tell you exactly what it is. Then trust the Holy Spirit to empower you, because He will fulfill His mission through you in ways that will fill your heart.
