Receive His Wisdom
James 3:13 - Who is a wise man and endued with knowledge among you? let him shew out of a good conversation his works with meekness of wisdom.
James 3:14 - But if ye have bitter envying and strife in your hearts, glory not, and lie not against the truth.
James 3:15 - This wisdom descendeth not from above, but is earthly, sensual, devilish.
James 3:16 - For where envying and strife is, there is confusion and every evil work.
James 3:17 - But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy.
James 3:18 - And the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace of them that make peace.
Many people are unaware of the fact that there are two types of wisdom, there is worldly wisdom as outlined in verses 14-16 above. Many times folks will ask how someone could believe this or do that and think it’s ok, or think it is wrong. It is all based on the perspective of the person looking at the situation.
Are they questioning it from a worldly perspective or the godly perspective listed above in verses 17 and 18?
Worldly wisdom is taught in many places. Godly wisdom is taught in the Word of God. In His Word we learn in James 1:5 - If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.
