A Glimpse of Heaven

Then came Jesus, the doors being shut, and stood in the midst.  John 20:26

There is much about Heaven we don't know; God hasn't chosen to reveal everything to us. But we do know Heaven will be far more glorious than anything we can imagine.

One truth God has revealed to us, however, is one we sometimes overlook: in Heaven we will have new bodies--bodies that will be free from the pain and death of this present world. They will be like Christ's body after His resurrection: somewhat like our present bodies, yet free from the limitations we now experience. Someday, the Bible says, Christ "shall change our vile body, that it may be fashioned like unto his glorious body" (Philippians 3:21).

Can you imagine this? I can't--not fully. But this verse reminds us that God cares about our physical bodies--and so should we. It tells us, too, that someday all evil and sin will be destroyed, and we will be part of "new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness" (2 Peter 3:13). Is your hope in Christ and the glorious future He has prepared for us?
