What’s in a Name?

 

Proverbs 22:1 - A good name is rather to be chosen than great riches,

Names are used throughout Scripture. Have you ever thought about what it means to have a Good Name?

Think about this, we are baptized in Jesus’ Name! Then we are commanded in Colossians 3:17 - And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him. 

Luke 10:20 - Notwithstanding in this rejoice not, that the spirits are subject unto you; but rather rejoice, because your names are written in heaven. 

If you are saved you’re name is written in Heaven and we learn that Jesus knows our name in John 10:3 - To him the porter openeth; and the sheep hear his voice: and he calleth his own sheep by name, and leadeth them out.
