Measuring

2 Corinthians 10:12 - For we dare not make ourselves of the number, or compare ourselves with some that commend themselves: but they measuring themselves by themselves, and comparing themselves among themselves, are not wise.

How do you measure your accomplishments or how do you set your goals? Do you look at others and compare yourself to what they do or what their goals are? We must all realize that each of us are uniquely different by God’s plan.

In fact, God tells us in the above verse that if we are comparing ourselves to others, then we are not wise! Each person has gifts that God has given to honor and glorify Him.    We are told in Romans 12:6-8 - Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, whether prophecy, let us prophesy according to the proportion of faith; Or ministry, let us wait on our ministering: or he that teacheth, on teaching; Or he that exhorteth, on exhortation: he that giveth, let him do it with simplicity; he that ruleth, with diligence; he that sheweth mercy, with cheerfulness.

God created each of us to fulfill His plan for our lives. He tells us in Revelation 4:11 - Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created.

Let’s all allow God’s Word to be the standard that we measure ourselves by.
