The Image of Christ

 

Romans 8:29 - For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the first born among many brethren. 

When we trust Christ as our Savior, we learn from the Word of God that we should conform to the image of Christ. That is great news in that we can experience victory by living our life in obedience to Him. But it also means that just as the world hated Him it may be difficult for us too. Jesus warns us in John 15:18 - If the world hates you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you.

We also learn about some saints of old in Hebrews 11:35 - Women received their dead raised to life again: and others were tortured, not accepting deliverance; that they might obtain a better resurrection: 

The saints spoken of there preferred to be tortured and executed rather than deny the One who saved them.

Have you decided that Jesus means more to you than anything else? We are taught by Jesus in Matthew 6:33 - But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

Put Christ first today, your love for Him will grow!
