Reverencing God
Proverbs 14:27 - The fear of the LORD is a fountain of life, to depart from the snares of death.
Many believers have a distorted view of Who God is and what Scriptures teach about Him. Many think that when the Bible says “fear the Lord,” that it means cowering down in frightfulness.
To experience the fullness of the Christian life it is important that you have a clear understanding of Who God is. When the Word of God says to fear Him, it means to reverence Him for His power, His authority, and His wisdom.
Because of your trust in the finished work of Jesus Christ we can boldly enter the Throne of Grace as we learn in Hebrews 4:14-16 – “Seeing then that we have a great high priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our profession.
For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.
Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.”
It will humble you as you consider His power, wisdom, authority and recognize the fact that the One who spoke into existence all of the universe allows you as a believer to enter into His presence and make your requests known.
Think about today what an awesome God we serve.
