God is Able
Daniel 3:17 - If it be so, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and he will deliver us out of thine hand, O king.
Daniel 3:18 - But if not, be it known unto thee, O king, that we will not serve thy gods, nor worship the golden image which thou hast set up.
What a dramatic story Daniel chapter three is. And what a thrilling example of faith and courage. Christians today may not face the ordeal of a fiery furnace, but they do face situations almost as demanding. How easy it is to “cut corners” or “cross your fingers” and forget that you belong to the Lord. The three Hebrew children could have found all kinds of excuses for obeying the king’s command, but they preferred to obey the Word of God.
“Our God . . . is Able.” This has been the testimony of believing saints down through the years. He is able to deliver. God does not promise to keep us out of difficulties, but rather to bring us out. He permitted the three men to go into the fiery furnace – and then went in with them! He shares every trial you experience and enables you to come out as a stronger person and through it all to glorify Him.
God is able to keep! Jude 1:24 - Now unto him that “is able to keep”…. At the beginning of your Christian life, you probably asked yourself, “Am I able to remain true to the Lord?” Do I have the strength to hold out? Then you discovered that He holds you! He is able to keep you from falling. The Good Shepherd cares for His sheep.
God is able to provide all that you need. 2 Corinthians 9:8 - And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work:
Our God is Able, make it personal, My God is able!
