Attributes of God’s Love – 4

Mercy - The Dispensation of Love

1 John 4:7 - Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one

that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God.

We’ve looked at the heart of love shown in compassion. We’ve looked at the

kindness of love and the grace of love. Today let’s look at the Mercy of love.

Hebrews 4:16 - Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we

may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.

We obtain mercy at the Throne of Grace. That mercy is to be shown to

others. As we understand the mercy that God has shown to us that we read

about in Titus chapter 3 and verse 5.

Titus 3:5 - Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according

to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of

the Holy Ghost;

Thank God for His merciful kindness that He has shown to us, and instructed

us about it in His Holy Word.

James 3:17 - But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable,

gentle, and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without

partiality, and without hypocrisy.

There is worldly wisdom and wisdom from above. The wisdom that teaches

us about mercy can only come from God’s Word.

If you want to make a difference in this world, exemplify the love of God by

showing compassion, kindness, Grace, and mercy.
