Encourage and be Encouraged
Galatians 6:10 - As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith.
Isaiah 41:7 - So the carpenter encouraged the goldsmith, and he that smootheth with the hammer him that smote the anvil, saying, It is ready for the sodering: and he fastened it with nails, that it should not be moved.
What are some of the ways we can be an encouragement to others?
- Express your care for others verbally. Sometimes just a, “I appreciate you,” or “I admire your dedication,” is all it might take to make someone’s day. Let folks know you are praying for them.
- Let others know you care with a hug or an act of service. God brings people across our paths who are weary from the load they carry, and they need someone to be willing to say, “How can I help?”
- Be patient with others. It may take time to be able to show forth the love of God to someone who has been hurt by someone they trusted. Pray for them faithfully.
- Always be forgiving. If someone you are trying to encourage lets you down and causes frustration for you, take time to remember how many times our Heavenly Father has forgiven you, then show that same compassion to them.
