How to Defeat the Enemy – Part 2
Read I Peter 5:5-10
1 Peter 5:10 - But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you.
The word stablish used in the above verse means steadfast. God wants us to stand strong in our defense of the Truth of His Word!
We are told in 1 Corinthians 15:58 - Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.
Hebrews 12:2 - Looking unto Jesus the Author and Finisher of our faith.
Don’t let the enemy get to you through your eye gate that leads to the depths of your soul! Don’t let him deceive you into believing it doesn’t matter what you look at. If it didn’t matter, he would not have told us to look unto Jesus!
The first sin entered the world because Eve “saw” that the tree was good for food, and it was pleasant to the eyes.
Lot’s wife turned around and looked back at Sodom, Genesis 19:26 and Luke 17:32, Remember Lot’s wife.
David looked from the palace to the housetops and saw Bathsheba, II Samuel 11:2.
Job said I made a covenant with my eyes, Job 31:1.
Jeremiah said, “Mine eye affecteth my heart.”
Lamentations 3:51
Keep your eyes on Jesus who is the Author and Finisher of our faith. That will enable us to be steadfast, unmovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord
