Victory in Jesus
Romans 13:12 - The night is far spent, the day is at hand: let us therefore cast off the works of darkness and let us put on the armour of light.
As Christians we know we have an enemy who wants to prevent us from growing close to the Lord. How does this enemy do that? The enemy will try to get us to sin so that we feel ashamed and not communicate with our Heavenly Father in prayer.
Another way the enemy tries to prevent us from being close to the Lord is by keeping us so busy with other things that we don’t take time to meditate on the goodness of God. When one tactic doesn’t work, the enemy doesn’t give up and leave us alone, he just moves to the next plan to keep us away from God.
Why does he do these things? Because he knows the more time we spend with our Heavenly Father, in His Word, the more we will experience His love, His mercy, His grace, and the more our faith will grow.
So don’t let anything stand in the way of your time with God. If you have fallen to temptation and sinned, confess it to God, ask for His forgiveness and you have the assurance of His Word in I John 1: 9 that he will forgive you. If you have a lot to do, make Jesus a priority anyway. This is the path to a strong victorious life in Christ!
