God’s Perspective

Back in the 1980’s we heard a song by Amy Grant entitled, “Just Like My Father’s Eyes,” a tremendous testimony of looking at things from God’s perspective.

It makes all the difference in how we look at the things of this world. When we look at situations from our own point of view it can look overwhelming. Think about how it looks from God’s perspective.

The army of Israel saw a giant warrior in Goliath, David looked at Goliath from God’s point of view and saw a man who was defying the armies of the living God. (1 Samuel 17)

The ten spies saw this in Numbers 13:33 - And there we saw the giants, the sons of Anak, which come of the giants: and we were in our own sight as grasshoppers, and so we were in their sight.

We make a mistake in evaluating circumstances or comparing ourselves with others in our own sight. We read in 2 Corinthians 10:12 - For we dare not make ourselves of the number or compare ourselves with some that commend themselves: but they measuring themselves by themselves, and comparing themselves among themselves, are not wise.

Keep your eyes on Jesus as we read in Hebrews 12:2 - Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.

Jesus looked past the sufferings of the cross to glory that awaited Him. Remember what Jesus said in Luke 1:37 - For with God nothing shall be impossible.
