Ingredients to Success
Proverbs 6:23
"For the commandment is a lamp; and the law is light; and reproofs of instruction are the way of life:"
Any person who desires to be successful would be wise to read God's Word so that they can find the principles that It teaches.
There are three principles taught in the above verse that will result in success for those who apply them.
Notice the first is the principle that “the commandment is a lamp.” A commandment is instructions, commands of what you are to do. The Word of God is where you receive your marching orders, your directions to the right path that God has for you to walk. You can read and study the Word of God, as you ask the Holy Spirit to reveal His Truth to you. You can receive instructions from a Bible teacher, preacher or pastor.
The next listed ingredient for success in the above verse is, “the law is light.” The law is simply guidelines to show you what not to do. There must be rules and laws by which we all must live. Rules and laws are in place to keep you from hurting yourself or others.
The third ingredient is “reproofs of instruction are the way of life:" This is instructional correction. Correction is part of success! To be successful we need someone who will tell us what we need to do, rules or laws that tell us what not to do, but we also need to be corrected when we do wrong. Correction is part of success! Don't just punish someone when they do wrong, but show them why they were wrong and how to do it right the next time.
If you are a leader, be sure you use these three ingredients as you teach and lead your followers to success. If you are under leadership then don't fight against leadership when they tell you what to do, and the rules that tell you what not to do, and the instructional correction that will correct you and show you how to do what needs to be done. All three ingredients are very important if you want to be successful.
