Mine Eye Affecteth My Heart
Lamentations 3:51
Jeremiah, as he looked out at his country that was being destroyed by sin, made this comment, “Mine eye affecteth mine heart!”
Job 31:1

Lot saw the plains of Sodom and went there where he lost his testimony (Genesis 13:10) and vexed his righteous soul (II Peter 2:7, 8). How did he do that? Peter said, “And delivered just Lot, vexed with the filthy conversation of the wicked: (For that righteous man dwelling among them in seeing and hearing, vexed his righteous soul from day to day with their unlawful deeds.”
Lot’s wife looked back at Sodom and was turned to a pillar of salt. Genesis 19:26

David saw Bathsheba bathing on the housetop, which led to adultery and murder! II Samuel 11:2

Always look to Jesus, Hebrews 12:2 - Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.
