Restoring Relationships

All through the Word of God we read about restored relationships. It begins in the Garden of Eden where God restores the relationship with Adam and Eve by killing an animal and making coverings for them.

We also see a restored relationship in the life of Jonah when he had run from God.

We can read about God restoring His relationship with David when David confessed his sin and asked for forgiveness.

Let’s look at the life of the Apostle Peter and how God worked in his life.

What type of man was Peter?

In Matthew 26:58, and 69-74 – He was a coward and Christ denier

In Acts 2 – He was courageous and depended on Christ

In John 18:10 – He was impulsive as a Christ defender

In Acts 2 - He was humble and a Christ debtor

In Matthew 16:21,22 – He was ignorant to the things of Christ

In Acts 2 – He was enlightened and a teacher of the things of Christ

In John 21:21,22 – He was deeply inquisitive

In Acts 2 - He was submissive

In Matthew 26:33,34 – he was boastful of self

In Acts 2 – He was boastful of Christ

In Matthew 14:28-31 – He was timid and afraid

In Acts 2 – He was fearless

In Matthew 26:40 – He was asleep

In Acts 2 – He was vigilant

What changed? He experienced the life changing power of the Holy Spirit as Christ made sure he knew restoration was available to him!

That same restoration is available to those who trust Christ as their Savior.
