God’s Power
1 Thessalonians 1:5 - For our gospel came not unto you in word only, but also in power, and in the Holy Ghost, and in much assurance; as ye know what manner of men we were among you for your sake.
There is power in the Word of God. We read in 1 Peter 1:23 Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.
We can’t save ourselves, neither can we mature ourselves as Christians. We must hear, read, and study the Word to grow in the Lord. None of us can live the Christian life in our own strength. The Christian life is not so much that you live for Jesus, but that you allow Jesus to live through you.
Think about the disciples. They were uneducated men. We read in Acts 4:13 - Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were unlearned and ignorant men, they marveled; and they took knowledge of them, that they had been with Jesus. Also, in Acts 4:31 - And when they had prayed, the place was shaken where they were assembled together; and they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and they spake the word of God with boldness.
That boldness came from being with Jesus, spending time with Jesus Christ allows you to tap into that power that comes from the Word of God by the spirit of God.
Spend some time with Him today!
