The God You Can Know
Isaiah 55:6 - Seek ye the LORD while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near:
Charles Stanley says, “I have traveled to many countries in the world, and I have found three questions that people consistently have on their hearts, regardless of who they are or where they are from: Who is the true God? What is He like? Can I have a personal relationship with Him?”
The tragedy is that there are people who go to Christian churches every Sunday but are still unsure of Who He is. Sometimes they doubt Him in an overt way---they can tell you what He’s like. Sometimes people will say they know Him well, but will live in a manner that tells a very different story.
Of course, you may already have a well-grounded idea about what the Lord is like. Or perhaps, like many people, you have some doubts or misconceptions about His character and what He expects of you.
The good news is that you can know God. We learn in Jeremiah 29:13 – “And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart.” What is the key to finding Him? Taking Scriptures seriously. You don’t have to make guesses about God because He has revealed Himself through His Word. And He guarantees He will make Himself known to you as you seek Him.
