Gifts of God

Matthew 2:11 - And when they were come into the house, they saw the young child with Mary his mother, and fell down, and worshipped him: and when they had opened their treasures, they presented unto him gifts; gold, and frankincense, and myrrh.

We all like to receive gifts.

Because of what took place here in Bethlehem so many years ago, we celebrate with Christmas trees and gifts.

As we look at God’s Word, we see so many gifts that God has given us through His Son Jesus Christ.

Of course, the most important gift any of us has or could ever receive is.

  1. The Gift of Salvation

The last part of Romans 6:23 says, “…but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”

Ephesians 2:8, “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God.”

Another gift we have received is;

        2. The Gift of His Power

John 1:12, “But as many as received Him, to them gave He power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on His name.”

        3. The Gift of His Righteousness

II Corinthians 5:21, “For He hath made Him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him.”

Philippians 3:9, “And be found in Him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith.”

We have great and precious gifts, good and perfect gifts, from our Father in heaven.
