The Search for Jesus

Matthew 2:1-2 - Now when Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judaea in the days of Herod the king, behold, there came wise men from the east to Jerusalem,

Saying, Where is he that is born King of the Jews? For we have seen his star in the east, and are come to worship him.

The word about Jesus spread far and wide shortly after His birth. In today’s Scripture, we read that many months after the birth, men traveled great distances to inquire of King Herod where they could find this “King of the Jews.”

To seek the Messiah shows true wisdom. The magi are remembered as wise men because they sought Jesus. It is still a wise person who takes the time and makes the effort to find Christ in Christmas.

So today, while Christmas is still with us, look at your December calendar and review the ways you have celebrated. Ask yourself, Did I look for Jesus? Did I worship Him? Did I present Him with gifts?

If you have been too busy or too preoccupied to find Jesus this Christmas, stop now and take some moments with Him. The wise men sought and found Him. What better time than now for you to do the same?
