Jesus is With You

2 Timothy 4:17 - Notwithstanding the Lord stood with me and strengthened me; that by me the preaching might be fully known, and that all the Gentiles might hear: and I was delivered out of the mouth of the lion.

As the Apostle Paul said in the above verse, we, too, as believers, can be assured that the Lord is always with us. We have the promise in Hebrews 13:5 - Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.

Many times, folks suffer the pain of being forsaken or seemingly forgotten by those who in the past have been trusted in times of trouble. While you may not understand the reasons behind their decisions, we can speculate it to be inconvenience, jealousy, or just plain self-centeredness. Determining the cause may not ease our pain, but it can help us to understand why we are instructed in God’s Word to put our full trust in God.

We learn the importance of the lesson in Psalm 118:8 - It is better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in man. When we read this verse, we think about the 12 Disciples of Jesus who when Jesus was arrested because one had betrayed Him and the other 11 left Him. There are times that we too may be forsaken by a trusted friend. Love those who stick by you through thick or thin and keep your trust in Jesus who will never leave or forsake you.
