He is Lord
Philippians 2:10-11 - That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth;
And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
We may think of Jesus as our wonderful Savior and gifted Teacher. However, one of the most frequently used tiltles for Jesus in the New Testament is “Kurios or Lord,” meaning one possessing authority, power, and control. The Word of God describes Jesus as the head of the Church, the ruler over all of creation, and the King of Kings (Colossians 1:18; Revelation 3:14; 17:14). Christ’s reign covers everything in existence- whether in Heaven or on the earth. No one – not even those who deny Him – will be free of His authority.
Although the enemy and the world may try to convince us that liberty is found in doing what we want, true freedom is acquired only through submission to Christ’s loving lordship. You are either working with His power or against it. And when you are submitted to Christ and joined with Him in His purposes, you are more than a conqueror with Him.
So have you submitted to Christ’s rule over you? Choose Him as the Lord of your life and rejoice as His kingdom is established in you.
