Christ in You

I have a quote on my desk that says, “We are not to stand in the world and witness of Christ, we are to stand in Christ and witness to the world.”

Sometimes we get the idea that the things we do for the Lord are our work. The truth is we are not even able to live the Christian life on our own. As we are taught in Colossians 1:27 - To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.

Even though we may want to honor God in all we do, when we do it on our own, we will slip, we will waiver in the tasks.

We learn in Scripture that we were never meant to live the Christian life on our own. The Christian life is allowing Christ to live through you so that He can be honored and glorified.

Even the Apostle Paul said in Romans 7:18 - For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh,) dwelleth no good thing: for to will is present with me; but how to perform that which is good I find not.

Serving God is all about realizing you can’t, but God can through you. That’s why He instructs us in Romans 6:13 - Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto God.

Submit to Him and allow His light to shine through you
