Friends
Proverbs 18:24 - A man that hath friends must shew himself friendly: and there is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother.
As a child, did you ever hear someone say, “I will be your friend if you will be my friend?” Even as adults sometimes we get the idea that it is the way friendship works. But that is not what the Bible teaches.
Friendship is like other principles in the Bible; to have friends, you must be a friend. There are people who need your friendship. Ask God to reveal someone who needs a friend and be that friend to them.
Think about this principle as taught from Scriptures.
To be an effective leader, learn to serve. Jesus said in Mark 10:43 - But so shall it not be among you: but whosoever will be great among you, shall be your minister:
That word minister means server.
Give it and it shall be given unto you. Jesus teaches us in Luke 6:38 - Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.
We learn there that if you give forgiveness, it will be given to you. If you give love, it will be given to you. If you give service, it will be given to you, if you give friendship, it will be given to you.
It is our responsibility to give, if we want to receive.
