Seeing Jesus

James 1:23 - For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass:

What do you see when you look in the mirror? Did you know God wants us to reflect Jesus? God’s Word teaches in Romans 8:29 - For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren.

God’s will for your life is to look like Jesus by reflecting His character, His purposes, and His mission to love God and love others. How do you do that? Again, we are taught in Romans 12:1-2 - I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.

And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

Jesus was the express image of God we learn in Colossians 1:15 - Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature: and also in Hebrews 1:1-3 - God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets,

Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds;

Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high;

How do you do that? How can you be transformed to the image of Christ? The above verse teaches you to be a hearer and doer of the Word.

The next time you look into a mirror, think, am I reflecting Jesus by my life?
