What are You Looking For?

Matthew 6:33 - But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

In Matthew chapter six Jesus is teaching about basic needs. He explained how as a believer your Heavenly Father knows you have these needs; He spoke of food, drink, and clothes.

He also reminds you how that God feeds the birds all around the world every day. Jesus reminds you of the beauty of the lilies of the field and how that God has made each of us beautiful in His sight.

Then Jesus says don’t worry, don’t be anxious about these things. He teaches us to put God first and all these basic needs will be met.

I think back to Genesis 1:1, “In the beginning God….” If you just remind yourself of that when you are tempted to worry or be anxious about circumstances in your life.

Put God and His righteousness first in your thoughts, in your emotions, in your decisions, in your acquaintances, in your marriage, and in your family and experience the promises of God to add all these things unto you.

In the last verse we are reminded, Matthew 6:34 - Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.

Don’t worry, have faith in God!
