Addicted

 

1 Corinthians 16:15 - I beseech you, brethren, (ye know the house of Stephanas, that it is the firstfruits of Achaia, and that they have addicted themselves to the ministry of the saints,)

 There are all kinds of addictions. Most of the time when we hear the word addiction, we think of drug addictions, but there are multitudes of addictions. I have met people who were addicted to their jobs. There are those who are addicted to sports. Others are addicted to pornography, alcohol, TV, gaming, gambling, and power. We have many politicians who are serving and have served for years who think they must stay in their position of power because no one else can do as good of a job as they do.

Society's addictions will lead to bondage, Ministry addiction will lead to freedom.

The word addicted means, according to Mr. Webster, to devote or surrender oneself to something habitually or obsessively! “To set”

 

The word ministry means, according to Mr. Webster, to give aid or service.

 

We ought to be addicted to THANKFULNESS

WE OUGHT TO BE ADDICTED TO GIVING

WE OUGHT TO BE ADDICTED TO SERVING

 

These are the types of addictions that will lead away from bondage into liberty!

Your life can be radically changed, and we all can be shining witnesses for Christ!

If you give up a bad addiction, you must replace it with something good. If you don’t, according to Matthew 12:45 - Then goeth he, and taketh with himself seven other spirits more wicked than himself, and they enter in and dwell there: and the last state of that man is worse than the first.
