Great Service

Exodus 3:14 - ….Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, I AM hath sent me unto you.

Have you ever felt God calling you to serve Him in some capacity? Likely, if the call was really from Him, the task felt beyond your abilities. Perhaps you even thought, there’s no way I can do that.

If so, you’re in good company. That was Moses' response when the Lord called him to address Pharaoh and demand that the enslaved Israelites be permitted to leave Egypt. But this just goes to show that God doesn’t call us to tasks that are easy; rather, He commissions us to assignments that will only succeed if we rely on His wisdom and power. In that way, He glorifies Himself through us.

If we could accomplish those tasks on our own, there would be no reason for anyone to trust God more. And that is the ultimate goal---that others would believe in Jesus because of our service to Him. So, He calls us---not to be superstars but to be humble servants who trust Him completely.

So if the Father has called you to accomplish something that seems too great for your strength and ability, then rejoice! That means He sees you as someone He can work through to reveal Himself to others.
