The Battle Rages

2 Timothy 2:3-4 - Thou therefore endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ.  No man that warreth entangleth himself with the affairs of this life; that he may please him who hath chosen him to be a soldier.

There is a battle going on all around us that many people are unaware of. This is not a battle with bombs, guns, or fighter jets, this is a battle for our minds.

Our enemy is defined in 1 Peter 5:8 - Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:

Our enemies’ weapons are defined in 1 John 2:16 - For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.

These weapons are used against us through our minds. The devils’ tactics have not changed since the beginning. He caused Adam & Eve to question what God had told them.  They looked at the forbidden fruit, then the enemy appealed to their pride by telling them they would become as God.

We must learn the lesson taught in Ephesians 6:12 - For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

Then apply the principle taught in 2 Corinthians 10:3-5 - For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh: (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;)

Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ.

1 John 5:4-5 - For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.

Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God?
