The Secure Mind
We have been looking at the Book of Philippians, in chapter 1 we learned
about the Single Mind, in chapter 2 we saw the Submissive Mind, in chapter
3 we learned about The Spiritual Mind, and today in chapter 4 we learn
about the Secure Mind.
The theme for this portion of Scripture is found in Philippians 4:19, “But my God
shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.”
Philippians 4:20, “Now unto God and our Father be glory forever and ever.”
We read in verse 7 the peace that is available to each of us as believers.
Philippians 4:7, “And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep
your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”
That peace is available to each believer when we follow the principles
taught in Philippians 4:6, “Be careful for nothing; but in everything by prayer and
supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.”
Be careful for nothing means don’t be anxious for anything. God says,
“Don’t worry, I’ve got this,” whatever you may be going through.
We learn in verse 13 the reason we don’t have to be anxious is because God
assures us in, Philippians 4:13, “I can do all things through Christ which
strengtheneth me.”
With God’s power on our lives, we can be sure that He will enable us to
accomplish His will.
Then we learn about God’s provision in Philippians 4:19, “But my God shall supply
all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.”
Because of God’s peace, His power, and His provision we can have a secure
mind, confident that He who has begun a good work in us, will complete that
work. (Philippians 1:6)
