Hindrances to Obeying God

 

Galatians 5:7 - Ye did run well; who did hinder you that ye should not obey the truth? 

What hinders you from serving God?

  1. Religion – Some folks will allow religion to hinder them from believing God. The Pharisees had gotten so caught up in the Law of Moses they failed to recognize the Savior. 
  2. Relationships – Some get so caught up in their own emotions and concerns about building relationships with others that they leave out the most important relationship and that is being in right relationship with God as you trust Christ as your savior.
  3. Rebellion – Others will rebel against any type of authority in their lives, including the ultimate authority of our Heavenly father.
  4. Resistance – We learn in Romans 13:2 - Whosoever therefore resisteth the power, resisteth the ordinance of God: and they that resist shall receive to themselves damnation. 
  5. Reproach – We read in 1 Timothy 3:7 - Moreover he must have a good report of them which are without; lest he fall into reproach and the snare of the devil. 

Do not let any of these be a hindrance for you. When you obey Christ and trust Him as your Savior you can experience the joy of being redeemed from the penalty of sin, released from the bondage of sin, and rejoice in the grace of God because He reconciles you to Him.
