What Causes Shipwrecked Lives -3
We are learning from the book of Acts chapter 27 about what causes lives to become shipwrecked. We have seen how that impatience and not listening to the man of God can cause our lives to be shipwrecked.
Acts 27:12 - And because the haven was not commodious to winter in, the more part advised to depart thence also, if by any means they might attain to Phenice, and there to winter; which is an haven of Crete, and lieth toward the south west and north west.
Because most of the passengers felt like the place was not comfortable enough for them, they chose to move on to another city hoping to find better accommodation.
There are a couple of important lessons to be learned from this passage of Scripture. Today we will learn that because the passengers were more interested in pampering themselves than listening to the man of God, they were headed for shipwreck.
Hebrews 13:5 says, “Be content with such things as ye have.”
Solomon said in Ecclesiastes 2:10, - “And whatsoever mine eyes desired I kept not from them…., then I looked and all was vanity and vexation of spirit.”
I Timothy 6:6 says, “Godliness with contentment is great gain.”
