Jesus Praying For You
John 17:1-26
Jesus’ entire life was a life of prayer. He began His ministry by going into a solitary place to pray. Often, He went up into a mountain to pray and spent the night in prayer. He is our great Intercessor. Here, and every day as our Great Intercessor He prays for you and for me.
Let’s look carefully at this amazing prayer Jesus prays. This is truly the Lord’s Prayer, He prays for Himself, for His disciples, and for the church, everyone who will trust in Him down through the ages.
In verse 4 Jesus reminds God that He has finished the work that the Heavenly Father had given Him to do!
Jesus Glorified God, verse 4, “I have glorified Thee on earth.” Are you glorifying God? To glorify means to honor, to magnify! Are you magnifying God in your life? Are you honoring God by your life, by your testimony, by the places you go and the places you stay away from? Are you glorifying God by the things you watch on TV and the things you look at on the internet? Are you glorifying God by the way you handle your family, your finances, and your friends?
We learn from the following Scriptures:
Ephesians 3:21 - Unto him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen.
Revelation 4:11 - Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power:
Isaiah 42:8 - I am the LORD: that is my name: and my glory will I not give to another,
Jesus glorified God; are you glorifying God?
