Living above the Circumstances

Romans 15:5 - Now the God of patience and consolation grant you to be likeminded one toward another according to Christ Jesus: 

There is an often used saying that goes like this, “Your attitude determines your altitude.” This saying carries a tremendous truth for all believers. We are told in Scripture to conform to Christ and we see the following example that Christ left for us to follow.

  1. An attitude of self-sacrifice - Philippians 2:7 - But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men:

 

  1. An attitude of compassion toward others – Matthew 9:36  - But when he saw the multitudes, he was moved with compassion on them, because they fainted, and were scattered abroad, as sheep having no shepherd.

 

  1. An attitude of patience - 2 Thessalonians 3:5 - And the Lord direct your hearts into the love of God, and into the patient waiting for Christ.

 

  1. An attitude of peace - John 14:27 - Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.

Because of what Jesus has done for us as believers we can live above the circumstances of life, Romans 15:5 - Now the God of patience and consolation grant you to be likeminded one toward another according to Christ Jesus:
