Encouragement from The Lord-4

1 Samuel 30:6 - And David was greatly distressed; for the people spake of stoning him, because the soul of all the people was grieved, every man for his sons and for his daughters: but David encouraged himself in the LORD his God.

We saw in a previous study that we also can encourage ourselves in the Lord as David did. We saw that we can do that by Realizing who we belong to as we learned in Romans 8:15-17. Realizing what you are worth, Romans 5:5-8, and Realizing your potential! Romans 8:11 You can also be encouraged by:

Realizing how important it is to treat others right. Romans 15:7, Wherefore receive ye one another, as Christ also received us to the glory of God.

Why is that important? Because the way we treat others speaks volumes about how we feel about ourselves. The symptoms of self-rejection are a tendency to criticize others and interpret innocent comments as personal attacks, fear of failure and unpredictable anger.

Realize who you belong to, Realize what you are worth, Realize your potential, Realize how important it is to treat others right. All of these are ways to encourage ourselves in the Lord.

Have you trusted Christ as your Savior?
