Fulfilled in Him

 

Romans 8:11 - But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you. 

That place of unrest in you is one that only Jesus can fill. Until you invite Him in, you will continue your futile search for fulfillment in that area. Your human instinct is to turn to what you can see and touch in the physical realm, but it will never really satisfy you. It can’t. Inherently, your need is spiritual – and can only be appeased in places unreached by earthly methods.

This is why when the Holy Spirit indwells you, He begins the process of transforming how your desires, needs, and innermost goals are met. He doesn’t necessarily eliminate them, but He changes your understanding of them. 

Of course, old habits die hard. Most of us have developed patterns of thinking and responding that take time and intentional effort to change. And really, only the Holy Spirit can do so effectively. So, what can you do to help with the process? Submit to Him. Acknowledge that God knows more than you do and can satisfy your soul. And obey what He calls you to do. In this way, you’ll embrace the abundant life and supernatural peace he has for you.
