Be an Encourager

Hebrews 3:13 - But exhort one another daily, while it is called To day; lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin.

Oftentimes, when a person is going through a storm in life they need words of encouragement. We all have times when we get discouraged. We read about King David needing encouragement in 1 Samuel 30:6 - And David was greatly distressed; for the people spake of stoning him, because the soul of all the people was grieved, every man for his sons and for his daughters: but David encouraged himself in the LORD his God.

We too can go to the Word of God for encouragement. We must remember too that The Lord has commanded us to encourage each other.

One way to be an encourager is to share your testimony with others. It is encouraging to others to know that they are not the only ones who need help or encouragement. When we share our testimonies about our salvation experiences it should include the times we have experienced the faithfulness of God since we were saved.

Hebrews 10:25 - Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.

The local New Testament Bible believing church is a great place to be encouraged by the teaching, singing, preaching, and the fellowship of other believers. If you are not active in a Bible believing church, I encourage you to find one and get busy working for the Lord.
