The Right Words
Luke 12:11-12 - And when they bring you unto the synagogues, and unto magistrates, and powers, take ye no thought how or what thing ye shall answer, or what ye shall say:
For the Holy Ghost shall teach you in the same hour what ye ought to say.
Do you know how to respond to people who ask you questions about your faith? Do you know how to lead another person to Jesus or how to defend your beliefs?
The first thing you must realize is that it’s not up to you to convict people of their sins – the Holy Spirit will do that.
Second, realize that the Holy Spirit of the living God is in you to help you know what to say in a manner that will resonate with the listener. In such moments, it is wise to pray, “Lord, help me to speak to this person as you would. Give me your words to say.” Then, speak freely as He leads you.
Friend, you can trust that if you are walking with God and are genuinely open to what He has to say through you, He is faithful to help you. He will prompt you to speak what needs to be said, and He will cause the other person to hear what he or she needs to hear.
