Rest in the Mercies of God.-2

 


II Corinthians 1:3, The Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort.

We should thank God for His mercy that He has shown toward all of us.

We read that He is rich in mercy, why? Because of the Great love He has for us.

 

Ephesians 2:4 - But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us,

 

James 5:11 - Behold, we count them happy which endure. Ye have heard of the patience of Job, and have seen the end of the Lord; that the Lord is very pitiful, and of tender mercy.

 

We also learn Our Heavenly Father is of tender mercy. The best way to bear afflictions is to look to the end of them; and the pity of God is such that He will not delay the bringing of them to an end when his purposes are answered; and the tender mercy of God is such that he will make his people an abundant compensation for all their sufferings and afflictions. His heart is moved for us while suffering, his blessings are manifested afterwards. Let us serve our God, and endure our trials, as those who believe the end will crown all.

 

Be thankful that we can enter into the rest available by being in His will.

 

Thank Him that He is rich in mercy, praise Him that He is of tender mercies.
