Rest in the Word of God.
We can rest in the will of God, we can rest in the mercies of God and we can rest in the Word of God. Let’s examine Scripture to learn how God describes His Word!
The Word of God is described in Scripture as; Right and Pure in Psalm 19:8 - The statutes of the LORD are right, rejoicing the heart: the commandment of the LORD is pure, enlightening the eyes.
The Word of God is described as Restraining in Psalm 119:11 - Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.
A preacher gave the gift of a Bible to a new convert once and he had written inside the cover this statement, “The Bible will keep you from sin, or sin will keep you from the Bible. Reading, studying, and meditating in the Word of God has restraining power.
The Holy Scripture is described as Perfect in Psalm 19:7 - The law of the LORD is perfect, converting the soul: the testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple.
Also we learn the Word of God is Living in Hebrews 4:12 - For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
That word quick in Hebrews 4:12 means “Alive!”
There is “REST” in the Word of God!
