Traits of a Christian Worker
Titus 2:14 - Jesus gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.
What does it mean to be zealous of good works? The word “zealous” means “to desire,” good works. What does that look like to others?
A person who is zealous of good works has a desire to build themselves up in the faith. We are instructed in 2 Peter 3:18 - But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and forever. Amen.
Another attribute of a Christian worker is an effectual prayer life. That is fellowshipping with our Heavenly Father. We learn in Jude 1:20 - But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost.
Hebrews 4:16 - Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need. A Christian worker understands the mercy that has been shown to him or her and will show the same mercy to others.
Humility is another attribute of the Christian worker. 1 Peter 5:5-6 - Likewise, ye younger, submit yourselves unto the elder. Yea, all of you be subject one to another, and be clothed with humility: for God resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble.
Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time:
