Secret Prayer

How is your prayer life? We are commanded in 1 Thessalonians 5:17 - Pray without ceasing.  What does that mean? That is an attitude of prayer. The blessing of communicating with our Heavenly Father is given to you if we practice going to Him.

One of the ways you can do that is by taking time to be alone with God. Jesus would make time to get apart from others to pray. He practiced secret prayer. In the Gospel of Mark, speaking of Jesus we read in Mark 1:35 - And in the morning, rising up a great while before day, he went out, and departed into a solitary place, and there prayed.

Jesus teaches in Matthew 6:6 - But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly.

We also learned that the Apostle Peter practiced secret prayer in Acts 10:9 - On the morrow, as they went on their journey, and drew nigh unto the city, Peter went up upon the housetop to pray about the sixth hour:

Do you have a prayer closet to go to and practice this type of praying. This enables you to pray unhindered by distractions. Our old enemies, the world, the flesh, and the devil will try their best to keep you from spending time alone with God. Don’t let that happen to you.
